Our main concern was how to load sheet metal on our new equipment in a tight space without damaging it and more importantly, keep our operators safe while doing it.

SOLUTION

Hammond worked with Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group to develop a custom transfer cart to solve this specific problem. Loads were able to be lifted by crane onto the transfer cart and moved safely and accurately into the laser cutting machine without the need to worry about operator error, injury or damage to the machine, ensuring maximum uptime

When it came to this project, safety, productivity and equipment maintenance came to the forefront of this solution.

Every hour the laser cutter was down for repairs represented a minimum of $1000 - $1500 in lost labour costs, not to mention repair and opportunity costs
